From 1990 onwards, vertigo produced a series of mixtapes that were eventually to achieve legendary status amongst those who lived the warehouse and clubbing scene. As his reputation grew, so did the reach of these mixtapes marking many an after-hours party, or motorway journey in the dead of night, to and from the parties and clubs as they boomed across the country. They now act as a diary; as a snapshot of the times and music that became the foundation upon which today’s club scene was built.

Originally released on C90 cassettes, naturally, the copies, and copies of copies that were passed around reached the end of their life and disappeared. These CD’s are pressed from the original master cassettes and have been digitally processed, boosted, cleaned and polished to better than their original quality, and now provide a chance to own these mixes again. A must for any house music lover interested in a document of the growth of the UK dance scene, from those heady days of the early nineties.

This series is dedicated to all those who danced in carparks waiting for club doors to open, who drove all night to dance in fields and warehouses, who lived for the music and stuck two fingers up to a recession and a redundant government; maybe it’s time we did it all again...
